Our latest trade mission to Jamaica was a huge success with the fantastic partnership between The Caribbean Council, The Department for Business and Trade (DBT), The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce-Kingston and The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica
It was exciting to see a very busy and productive programme of engagement with the delegates across the week with over 40 bilateral commercial meetings held – in addition to our round-table engagements and well-attended networking events with our partners.
We are grateful for the wonderful networking opportunities to engage with numerous Government Ministers and senior officials across the visit, including:
- Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Hon. Aubyn Hill
- Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, Hon. Floyd Green
- Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Hon. Alando Terrelonge
- Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Dr. the Hon. Norman Dunn
- Senior Ministerial Advisor on Tourism, Delano Seivewright
Our Successful Mission Results:
- Unlocking new finance solutions for several projects needing investment in Jamaica
- The expected opening later this year of a new regional HQ in Jamaica
- A highly effective low-cost mosquito control solution being rolled out on an expanded level by Red Cross Jamaica
- Improved hurricane resilience for the power sector
- New AI and machine learning solutions brought to the ports and logistics sector
- New high-tech training for mechanics is currently in discussion
Special thank you again to our mission partner –JP Logistics Solutions. Our visit to the impressive Kingston Wharves facility at the Port of Kingston highlighted their excellent capability to service all your shipping and logistics requirements in dealing with Jamaica.
